It's tax day along with being rainy, a good day to catch up on some bloggin after a very busy week.

To pick up where I left off, the three remaining at the table were my friend John Hnat ( pronounced gnat) , Ann and myself, still all very doable in my world with Johnny being a buffer.

John was just a couple years behind me in age but far more mature than myself or most peers his age due to some tough upbringing in his home life. His life truly exemplified the sink or swim principle, Johnny not only swam but went on to become a Michael Phelps with life endeavors overcoming many obstacles along the way. In spite of a challenging home, John was a basketball stud, graduated at the top of his class, valedictorian or right there if I'm not mistaken, put himself through college and currently own his own very successful business along with being a very good father.

All these things are impressive in the worlds eyes, but what sets John apart for me is he was and still is my friend, I owe the guy, let me explain.

I had told my crew of buds that I had cast my eyes on Ann from the 1 st encounter and that my heart was full to the brim with passion ( sounds so much better than lust) for the gal, no secret with my tribe. Johnny was well aware of a couple things in our friendship, one , I was painfully shy with the opposite breed, and two, with his assistance, it was my time to learn how to navigate this stretch of road regardless if there was a map in my possession. The three way conversation was moving right along when John pulled the cork saying he had some homework to finish up, time to depart and I could feel the water rising quickly.

I've always held the truth in high esteem but I'll forgive the lie he perpetrated to achieve the end result that might have been well orchestrated by multiple parties of my friends. I can see them all huddled up together saying " we've got to get Jimmy moving in the right direction "...Johnny just happened to pull the short straw. I'll say this, without Johnny, there might not have been a Jimmy and Annie, God knows.
